The Legal Cloud Computing Association ("LCCA") has published its responses to proposals issued by the ABA Commission on Ethics 20/20 ("Commission") and the North Carolina State Bar ("NC State Bar") regarding the use of cloud computing within a law practice.

Respuesta a la Comisión de Ética de la ABA 20 / 20
La carta de la LCCA a la Comisión de Ética de la ABA se emitió en respuesta a la Propuestas preliminares sobre "Tecnología y confidencialidad" publicado el mayo 2, 2011. Las Propuestas incluyen ciertas modificaciones a las Reglas Modelo de Conducta Profesional de la ABA que están diseñadas para facilitar la adopción responsable de tecnología que aumentará la calidad y reducirá el costo de los servicios legales. Las propuestas se publicaron como parte de un proceso iniciado a principios de 2010 donde la Comisión publicó un documento temático solicitando comentarios y retroalimentación de la comunidad legal.
La LCCA apoya plenamente las propuestas de la Comisión y agradece a la Comisión por incorporar los comentarios de la LCCA y otros sobre el documento temático.
Respuesta a la 2011 FEO6 propuesta por el Colegio de Abogados de Carolina del Norte
The LCCA's letter to the NC State Bar pertains to Proposed Formal Ethics Opinion ("FEO") 2011FEO6. The Proposed FEO attempts to address the ethical issues relating to the use of Software-as-a-Service or cloud computing within a law firm environment.
Si bien la LCCA apoya los esfuerzos del NC State Bar para brindar claridad sobre el uso de la computación en la nube a sus miembros, la FEO propuesta tal como está redactada afectaría negativamente a un amplio espectro de abogados de aquellos que no hacen nada más que usar un cliente de correo electrónico basado en la web o realizar investigaciones legales en línea para aquellos que prestan servicios legales en línea a gran escala.
The onerous requirements of the Proposed FEO, detailed in full in the LCCA's response to the NC State Bar, would force many cloud computing providers to withdraw from the NC market entirely, thus negatively impacting the technological capabilities and competitiveness of NC-based law firms.
